TRACK AND FIELD WORLD CHAMPION and two-time Olympic silver medalist Adam Nelson typifies the Force Factor attitude. Nelson, an imposing athlete at 6'0" and 255 lbs, has relied on a combination of raw power and superb technique to rise to the top of the field as a world class shot-putter.
Adam is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Dartmouth University, where he was a member of the football and track and field teams. Most impressively, he led Dartmouth to the 1996 Ivy League championship and an undefeated season that year. Four years later, Adam took his talents to the global stage when he seized the silver medal in shot-put at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. He claimed the silver medal once more in a heated final round at the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, Greece. Not satiated by his Olympic achievements, Adam went on to win first place in the 2005 World Outdoor Championships. He remains one of the top competitors in shot-put and has taken first place in numerous national competitions. Adam still holds the Dartmouth shot put record with a throw of 65 feet 3 inches.
In addition to being a top U.S. Olympic athlete, Adam is a vocal advocate for the World Anti-Doping Agency. Adam's commitment to his sport and to the integrity of competition exemplifies what it means to be a member of Team Force Factor.
