Team Force Factor: Vernon Davis
Biography: Vernon Davis
VERNON DAVIS, CAPTAIN of the San Francisco 49ers and one of the NFL's top tight ends, is Force Factor's fastest athlete.
Davis was a multi-sport star growing up in Washington, D.C. His talents eventually led him to the University of Maryland, where he continued to dominate the competition. Widely considered the nation's best college tight end, Davis was selected 6th overall in the 2006 NFL draft by his current team, the San Francisco 49ers. Five years later, Davis is more than living up to his potential as a first-round pick. Built like a Mack truck, but sporting a 40-yard dash time of 4.38 seconds, Davis has been punishing opponents his entire career.
Davis's excellent blocking skills, combined with his freakish athleticism and rock-solid frame, have made him one of the premier tight ends in all of football. He has also blossomed into one of the league's most dangerous weapons, leading a revitalized 49ers offense last season. In the divisional round against the New Orleans Saints, Davis had 7 receptions and 180 yards, breaking the record for most yards by a tight end in a playoff game. He also scored the game-winning touchdown with 9 seconds to go. He went on to score the team's only two touchdowns in the NFC championship game.
Vernon was elected co-captain of his team at the beginning of the 2009 season based on his qualities as a leader both on and off the field. As an athlete and a leader, Vernon Davis truly exemplifies what it means to be Force Factor strong. Check out Vernon's favorite supplements, and see for yourself.
